Yeast Plant Open Joint Stock Company is the only enterprise in the Republic of Belarus that produces baker’s, feeding (based on yeast), wine and distiller’s yeast representing a technically pure species of one-celled fungi Saccharomycetes.
Yeast production is a complex microbiological process aimed at accumulation of yeast biomass as a result of its reproduction by budding.
The technology of yeast production includes creating and maintaining optimal conditions for growth and reproduction of yeast cells. For the normal development, yeast requires a source of digestible carbohydrates, a source of nitrogen for protein synthesis and growth substances, vitamins and microelements.
Yeast Plant OJSC has been growing high-quality yeast for more than 120 years. In recent years, the production technology at the plant has significantly improved; new, more effective yeast strains are used that enable to produce high-quality yeast to the full extent meeting the customers’ requirements.
Currently, Yeast Plant OJSC produces pressed baker’s yeast briquettes of net weight 50 g, 100 g and 1 kg, and dried yeast in form of powder or granulas in packs of 20 kg, 1 kg, 0.5 kg, 0.25 kg and 15 g.
Yeast is a sensitive product that shall be carefully packed in a material preventing it from damage and drying out. Thus, great attention is paid to the package that is itself the advertisement of the product. The shelf life of pressed yeast is 24 days at temperature 0 to +4°C. Production of dried yeast makes it possible to significantly extend the shelf life of yeast to 5 to 24 months, depending on the strain. Dried yeast is made by fast drying of pressed yeast using special processes that ensure maximum preservation of yeast quality and viability. In addition to traditional baker’s yeast, manufacture of dried wine yeast has been mastered at the plant for better satisfaction of customers’ demand, as for industrial use, so for retail sale to consumers of the republic. Yeast produced by Yeast Plant OJSC is a genuinely unique, natural and ecologically pure product made with no chemical bleaching agents or additives.
Yeast Plant OJSC continuously works to expand the range of the products it makes. At present, new kind of yeast the shelf life of that will be 26 days under development. A completely new product that has no analogues has been created: growth regulator “ROSTMOMENT”. It is an ecologically pure bioregulator and stimulator of life of plants based on yeast and products of their metabolism. “ROSTMOMENT” is produced following a special technology that makes it possible to get a natural highly-efficient and safe growth stimulator for plants free of chemical additives. “ROSTMOMENT” is an alternative to abuse of chemicals in agriculture. At the main enterprise, new equipment has been commissioned. It is equipment to produce active dried baker’s yeast, dried yeast “Vinnye” and “Spirtovye”, and feeding dry yeast. Like pressed yeast, it is produced only from natural raw materials.
